DID YOU KNOW:
“For business, it is clear that online presence is important, regardless of whether a business actually sells its products or services over the Internet. If a store provides product information online, even if it doesn't sell products at its web site, nearly half of all Americans (46%) said this would make them more likely to go to the physical store to buy the product.” |
How long will it take before my website is done?
First of all, and most importantly, it is critical that you have all your information, copy, graphics, and logo, to me BEFORE our agreed-upon start date.
The overall time, of course, depends on the size of your site. But expect it to take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. Though usually it is done within a month.
Will my current website be disrupted while you build my new site?
Not at all, as I develope all sites on my test server. I will send you a link to it, so that you can stay vitally involved as to the design of it. I will often send you emails and ask you to check the latest developments and request your feedback.
When will my site go "LIVE"?
As soon as the design is complete, I will invoice for the final payment, and upon receipt of that payment, I will upload your site to your reserved domain name hosting acount. And you will then be Live! Plan on sending an email to everyone you know will be interested in your "grand opening." By now, your website address (url) should be on your business cards, brochures, and any other printed material you have, including your letterhead.
Redesigning your currrent website
First I'll review your current website to see what works and what needs improving. Based on that evaluation, we'll decide on what is most important to get done next. What are your goals, how are they not being met, and we'll most likely work out a few phases to accomplish your goals and vision for your website. The cost will vary based on what needs to get done. Call or email for your FREE 30 minute consultation.
Maintenance
How will I make updates to my site? There are a few options, one is you can learn how to do some basic web design by buying a web editor and teaching yourself, taking a class at a local junior college or adult ed.
I can provide you with a web editing software that does NOT require you to know any HTML (that coding language in which websites are built).
You can hire me to maintain your website, I don't abandon you as soon as I upload your completed site. You can just call or email me when you've got a few things added up that need updating. Giving me a week's notice is best as I fit my maintenance requests inbetween my web design projects.
How long will it take to potential customers and clients to find my website in the search engines?
First things first.
A website alone will not bring you traffic. What brings traffic are several things...
Good content
This is first and foremost.
Email signups
This is a must-have feature on your site. Those folks that do find you are potential customers and clients. Don't let them get away without leaving their email. Your mailing list is worth its weight in gold. Your web visitors sign up because they want to know more about you, your services, and products. You'll want to send emails out whenever you want to bring these folks back to your site. For some people, that is weekly, some monthly, some occasionally. You decide.
Meta Tags:
So what are these? What these do for your site and traffic is they provide strategic "behind the scenes" traffic drawing power. A brief keyword rich description of your website (255 characters) and a list of relevant, well-analyzed and competitive keywords (1000 characters) will place your site higher up in the search engines, and get you the qualified traffic you want and need.
I code meta tags into each site I build. I'll guide you through this important step as we near completion of your site. Your input will be very important. At the end, after you go "Live" I will submit your site to the top 12 search engines at no extra charge. Count on a couple of months before you see appreciable increase in traffic, as it takes the search engine robots awhile to "spider" all the new sites.
See my Those Fabulous Extras page for just another reason to hire me to develop, design and maintain your website.
